The founding conference of the Global Chinese Marine Biologists Association was successfully held and concluded in October 2023 at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. The speakers introduced the development history of their respective institutions, the advantages of marine scientific research, innovative scientific and technological achievements, future strategies and cooperation plans, etc.
They comprehensively demonstrated the strength of the Chinese in the field of Marine biological research and the significant contribution made to the progress of Marine science and technology. The conference attracted more than 100 Chinese participants from 34 universities, 21 research institutions, and 12 enterprises/organizations to discuss the future development strategy of global Marine biotechnology. In addition, the participants actively participated in the strategic development planning forum of the association, proposed to pay attention to the training of young Marine science and technology talents, led the significant discoveries of Marine biological basic science and major industrial technology disruptive innovation based on China, the global pattern, further enhance the internationalization of the association, so that the association could provides development opportunities for members of different ages and categories to contribute to the development of global Marine biotechnology and the blue economy.
