The 17th Deep-sea Biology Symposium will be held in the middle of January 2025 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong SAR, China.
The 17DSBS is a milestone for biologists in the Asia-Pacific region since this is the first Deep-Sea Biology Symposium in this region since 1977. The 17DSBS aims to bring together experts from around the world who have strong interest in deep-sea biological science, and discuss the cutting-edge research, such as biodiversity, ecological protection, genomics, climate change, conservation, deep-sea environmental policy and management. This symposium will provide a platform for them to demonstrate the latest cutting-edge breakthroughs, to propose current scientific research challenges, and to discuss future research directions. This international deep-sea biology symposium will greatly promote the academic exchange between marine biologists (including young talents and world-renowned scientists), build potential collaboration networks, and foster biodiversity conservation, environmental management, as well as marine resource utilization. Eventually, it will enhance the global impact of the Chinese community in the field of deep-sea science and technology innovation.
